About
Laser Defense Lab is an explanatory site that puts lasers at the center and explains the principles of military technology from open sources.
It starts from the basic principles of lasers and moves on to fiber lasers, industrial lasers, laser hardware and simulation. A separate section covers what has to be solved together when a laser becomes a weapon system: gimbals, optics, electrical power, cooling, weight, vibration and environmental durability.
It also covers technology that sits next to lasers: radar and infrared sensors, air defense, drones and counter-drone systems, and weapons that run on electricity. The principles of wider weapon systems, such as missiles, aircraft, ships, land systems and space, are explained by the same rule. These articles too stay with principles, history and publicly documented cases.
The site also offers a glossary, guides to manufacturers and research groups, and commentary on weapon news and defense issues. Beginner articles come first and make up most of the site, so first-time readers can follow.
